Salone Del Mobile 2022 - Artistic Trend

It seems that Art-Design is a very distinct trend for the coming 60th Salone del Mobile which starts in less that two weeks. Art-deco influences and baroque adornments are often found in many of the new designs that we are going to see in Milan from June 7th during Milan Design Week 2022. A few examples:

Any Trends You Are Tired of?

Is there anything in today's interior design that you think is obsolete, outworn and ready to go away?
I will agree with Marie Claire Maison that we have had enough of the glamour of Art Deco, especially its false glitter. But still, we will continue to use some of its feel-good elements like the rich textiles - especially in winter we need the coziness of velvet and plush.
I can see its way of transformation into something modern, elegant and at the same time cozy - like this beautiful sofa that Sebastian Herkner has designed and that we are going to see at the coming this January IMM Cologne:

But I doubt their expectation that the so popular Scandinavian style will lose its influence will prove to be true. May be for a part of us who are really fed up with its a little boring uniformity, but, still, we can take a lot from thier love for natural wood and craftsmanship. From the photo above I would take away only the dried flowers, but would happily add some more colour :) - what do you think?

Interior Design Trends that will stay in 2018

As I said earlier, it is obvious that velvet will continue to be one of the favourite textiles this year, too. But it goes quite well with the Art deco style that was revived a few years ago, especially with the new versions of The Great Gatsby. We see all this in the new releases of Longwave by Diesel with Moroso

and Promenade by Philippe-Nigro for Thonet:

Terrazzo - this wonderful new/old material will continue to be widely used, because of the numerous possibilities it gives for interior designers, architects and decorators:

 Wall&decò, Contemporary 2016 Wallpaper Collection, presented at Maison&Objet. This one is my favourite - not exactly because of the wallpaper, but because of the beautiful colour scheme of the interior design setting:

Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Copenhagen-based consumer electronics company Bang & Olufsen are launching six of the company’s luxurious products in rose gold.  The collection captures the mood and style of the  glamourous and exuberant 20s when Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen started their company.





The new series is quite in trend with the recent rebirth of Art Deco and the continuing already several years love for copper hues in design.

Set designer Catherine Martin was inspired by a French designer of the period, Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, and Art Deco style, including rich hardwood floors, a silk and wood criss-crossed wall covering, and a gray-and-gold rug custom designed by herself.
