Another “rough luxe” hotel

is going to be opened in a couple of months - a 16^th century building in Rome will be reborn as G-Rough, a ten-suite “rough luxe” hotel.   




Hotel's design masterfully blends Italy’s rich history and design prowess.


Each floor of the five-story hotel draws its inspiration from a different Italian designer from the 30’s, 40’s.and 50’s. 
Inspired addition to the  “rough luxe” trend that started several years ago.

A hotel I dream to stay in

It is not that rare to get impressed by the interior design of a new hotel - today we have plenty of designer hotels with great design. But when I saw today some of the photos from Wl Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, I just wanted to be there and explore and enjoy the inviting, fun and beautiful interiors! And it is no doubt to be so because they are created by Patricia Urquiola together with Rockwell Group.
A great example of how things should be done!

A hotel uniting several centuries in its interior design!

 Yes, that is possible, especially if the building is situated on a site with so rich history and fragments of the Roman city and the Arab city in itself! That is the interesting story of Caro Hotel, Valencia. Originally a palace that was the home of the Marqués de Caro, when the building was being renovated these fragments were discovered and the architect FRANCISCO JURADO JIMÉNEZ and designer FRANCESC RIFÉ
 decided to incorporate them withing the modern hotel rooms:
