LACES - again!

The LACE trend is not new, it started a few years ago, but obviously this year it’s big on the runways and in your home again.

And, since interior design and fashion are closely connected, obviously the lace pattern will not go out of fashion in interiors, too. It is expected even to appear more often in interior design products this year again - made of different materials and in most unusual applications:

Luxury at the coming Maison & Objet 2010

Boca do Lobo, the Portuguese company for luxury furniture design will present at the coming Paris show its latest LE Limited Edition/Large Emotion collection, Time Goes By.
The stand will be adorned with a selection of other distinctive pieces, including their recently released Limited Edition Crochet chest. It does look like a jewel with this unusual decoration and an interesting continuation of the popular LACE trend in the last years.

Lace Patterns Continue to be Hot in Milan

My favourate LACE trend in interior design in general and especially in furniture from the last two years is obviously loved by many designers (and consumers):
lace patterns seem to continue to be one of the important themes during this coming Milan Furniture Fair, too. Have a look at the new elegant MISS chair that Ph. Stark designed for Driade:












Miss LACY (above) which, according to me, is much more beautiful than her predecessors from this series.

The "LACE" Trend as a Fusion

The 'lace' trend continues to be the order of the day: a table and chairs made of fibreglass and lace by the Danish company GAMplusFRATESI shown at “inspired by Cologne” IMM Cologne (16-22.01.2006), are just the next home furnishing to prove it. Combining "high performance composite materials, as glasfiber, and the aesthetics from the antique art of lace", they are an excellent example of my favourate fusion style.
