Bulgarian Furniture Design - a Higher Level

I am impressed with the growth of Bulgarian furniture design - both, as quality of design and implementation, that we saw at the annual exhibition "BULGARIAN PRODUCT DESIGN: FURNITURE" this week, organized by MD MAGAZINE. They are beautiful and functional, made of quality materials:

The exhibition is part of the annual Melba Design Festival.

Recycling should be beautiful

 

Otherwise we should search for better possibilities - what do you think? 

Technologies today allow designers to produce better results when looking for sustainability and I will try to post more often of such successful designs. One of my favorite examples from Patricia Urquiola:

A Lamp that sings "Happy Birthday"

We already know how much Marcel Wanders likes magic in design - we can see it in many of his projects. With Bella the magic of lighting he combines with the magic of music :)

With just the touch of its cap, Bella comes to life offering ten different classic melodies by Bach, Chopin, Puccini, Pachelbel, as well as a 'Happy Birthday' song!

Marcel Wanders was looking for the magic in lighting in his new project for LLadro presented during the last Salone del Mobile in April 2019.

Soap as a packaging material

Can you imagine how much plastics we can replace?

mi zhou is a post-graduate student at central sant martins and developed this project for the material futures program. soapack was exhibited in the degree show during june 19-23, 2019.

 Another proof that design can save the world :)

Clever Design - a Growing Bookcase

Corner cupboard / bookcase that opens, made of marine plywood with natural birch veneer on the inside and painted in cobalt water blue on the outside. The central metallic element, varnished with cobalt blue powder, represents a graphic sign when the corner cupboard is closed at 90° and is revealed completely when opening it up to 180°.

Beautiful Designer Glass for Your Home

Archiproducts Design Awards 2016 Winners

For its first ever edition Archiproducts Design Awards 2016 had 490 products nominated by 250 brands with headquarters in 15 different countries. An international jury, composed of members of the 25 most influential architectural studios from all over the world, has chosen the winners of the ADA 2016 awards.
