Memories from Milan - 2

I posted Memories from Milan soon after my visit to the famous Milan Design Week this April. But I do have many more beautiful photos from this charming city. Enjoy some more of them:
The place where I lived

greenery everywhere, very often on the roofs, too:
no boring window decoration - each one is different

Beauty is in details

Duomo - probably one of the most visited areas, but this one is my favourite - it's cozy, sophisticated and elegant:
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II one of the world's oldest shopping malls

Are you impressed
Palazzo Litta - the perfect background for displaying design

Are you fascinated? I am and I am looking forward to seeing more of it next time. See more photos from the exhibitions during Milan Design Week 2017. If you are interested in detailed news and trends analysis, e-mail me.

Art is the great final touch

that makes a space unforgettable and charming. Art is also the necessary element that can unite all the other elements of an interior design project and gives it a character. And when the interior designer works together with the owners to achieve that, then the result is undoubtly the best. That was what I thought when I saw the photos of this beautiful Contemporary Ranch Style Residence:

Of course, we have to admit that the result would not have been the same without the great work of  Stephen Moser Architect - the building itself is a wonderful background for displaying all those artefacts and beautiful furniture as part of the overall interior design solutions.
I would definitely like to live in such a house - what about you?

An architect's dream home

This is probably one of the most beautiful, charming and lively bedrooms I have seen. And as an interior designer with long years experience I muste have seen a lot. This room invites you to live there, not just sleep!
A glass-walled penthouse in Manchester

It is owned by the architect who designed the building, Beetham Tower, one of the tallest towers in Europe,  - architect Ian Simpson:

Would you like to live in such a house?

It is like a fairy tale house in the real world, but in fact this appears to be an old technique of building  called cordwood masonryused by  Rob and Jaki Roy to create not only their own house, but also to teach others, who want to use it at their Earthwood Building School. In an interesting article in New York Times
I was impressed to find that it also is a popular way to have a house you like in a more accessible way and in a slow economy the number of people who use it is growing.

How to make a classic style building into something modern, energetic

and entertainig? And further more when we are talking of a bank! Ask Paris-based architect Fabrice Ausset of Zoevox who crated this concept bank  located in the historical building of 2, Place de l’Opéra.
"almost 1,000 square-meter funhouse of colors, shapes, textures and forms with the goal to entice the customer to discover, interact, experiment and (gasp!) enjoy."(Cool Hunter)
Definitely atmosphere to enjoy working in or only visiting this bank to do business with!

Zaha's 'blob' in Budapest

I cannot withstand the desire to publish this photo - probably this is the most beautiful and most feminine building of hers I have seen

"The whole ensemble is composed of two components merging into one unity: The building and the Square. "
