Soft elegance, sophisticated luxury and beautiful colour scheme - this what we see from these  computer generated images for The Lincoln Square development in Bloomsbury, due for completion in February 2019.

 As the designer herself explains, her project for the public areas of a residential scheme on Lincoln Square is a crossover between domesticity and public space. It is a high-end development, with the expected five-star facilities, communal and amenity space, including the private dining rooms, cinema and hotel-style lobby.

Instead of a members’ bar, residents have their own elegant library. 

To mark the opening of the new luxury Lincoln Square development in the heart of Londonworld-renowned designer and architect Patricia Urquiola has designed a limited-edition handmade sand timer.

Trendoffice Product Picks from Milan Design Week 2018

The fair and all the events going at the same time are impossible to grasp and reflect thoroughly, but still, one can have some general impressions about new trends and ineresting new products, unexpected design solutions. Here are some of my picks:

Justine Cabinet by Matteo Cibic - one of his “wonder-objects” designed for JCP

 Yael Reboh's "Primavera" project - layer upon layer of veneer and fabric and the result is so unusually beautiful and probably very comfortable armachair! 

Atlas table by Hillsideout (Andrea Zambelli and Nat Wilms) in painted bronze and glass - Ventura Future

HELIX by Vener Lab - the stainless steel surface, helix-shaped, leans on the structure worked in a single piece of ghiandone stone, carved in the top.

This is just a part of what she created with marble, but I like also that she combined it with copper.

A chair - portal to another location

 Presented at this year’s Design Miami and part of Moroso project for  Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI). According to the dessigner, it is not a chaise longue nor an armchair.

Portal Chair by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso -  “It’s a portal, an hardware that represents a doorway leading to another location, period of time or dimension. A material instrument that could give mental comfort as well as physical and visual. That can be transported by a 'porter', in the latin ethimology of portarius, 'gate keeper'. That helps you going from one dimension to another.” 

A lot of coziness at Milan 2014

Which is the home product that creates most coziness for you? I suppose that for many of us it is sofa, but one designer who is especially good at designing cozy sofas is, of course, Patricia Urquiola. She always envisions in her designs the possibility for being together:

I have been always fascinated by what she is doing and I am probbably one of the first to notice her in her early years and a design writer and blogger who has most often written about all her new designs.
