Trends: Warmth with natural stones

According to Elle Decor, there is a general trend (which I completely agree with) towards warmer, earth tones, including the bathroom. And there we notice a desire to replace white marble in favor of stones with warmer hues like travertine and limestone. I can confirm that from what my latest clients chose for their two bathrooms - travertine walls and travertine-like floor tiles:

I suppose that now, when we are going to spend more time at home, this trend towards warmer hues will become popular.

Trend Alert: Tables as Focal Point

I like this trend. It started a couple years ago. Tables with one central base often with unusual sculptural form are getting more and more popular. This is true not only for dining tables, like this beautiful example below:

but also for side tables, where it is much easier to have a more interesting solution:

Trend Alert: Brass in the kitchen on a large scale

I saw this Hot new kitchens trend  coming during my visit at Salone last April and today I found a very beautiful confirmation for it at Nordic Design News:

"Brass in the kitchen is in - and we're not just talking about the faucets anymore..." 

Form 45, Multiform, by Danish designer Henrik Witt

As they describe it, their kitchen Form 45 will "not only be aesthetically superb, but also of a quality, that ensures your kitchen will last. The joy of genuine quality is ever-lasting." The combination of natural wood with brass is so elegant and warm! With great design and exquisite detailing, all edges beveled with diagonal cuts at 45 degrees, this kitchen is a real modern classic!

It introduces a whole new approach to kitchen design in general - we don't have the traditional counter here made of a different material from the one of the island itself. 

A real luxury!

Inspiring Kids' Rooms

Kids rooms are especially important - they create the basis for appreciating beauty, for perception of harmony and colours and they inspire our children for their own creativity. So, never approach kids room design without good planning and deep thought. I want to share some findings that I consider good example for kids'room design:

Hot new kitchens trend:

I saw this trend in Milan during this year's design week and I continue to see it in many new kitchen designs - rediscovering brass:

Not only for taps, but for the whole kitchen island - both, countertop and cupboard covers. Brass is an ancient materials that is strong, good looking and ages well - how do you like the idea?
