Inspiring Interior Design for a Hotel

I am fascinated with the colour scheme and beautiful choice of the best of modern furniture in the new Puro Hotel, Gdansk, Poland, part of the Puro hotel group. It is mostly by Patricia Urquiola - some of her best pieces in elegant pastel colours:

Ideas for summer destinations from World’s Best Hotels

No. 4 ol Donyo Lodge
Mbirikani Group Ranch
Kenya

If you still have not decided about your summer vacation, have a look at the list of this year’s World’s Best Hotels. It is interesting to find that results reflect a growing preference for the exotic - which, according to me, is not a new trend. Six of the year’s Top 10 hotels overall are safari lodges in Africa, while the number of winning hotels in the top 50 located in Mexico and Central and South America has increased fivefold since 2010.

No. 1 Singita Grumeti Reserves (Sasakwa Lodge, Sabora Tented Camp, Faru Faru Lodge)
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

No. 2 Singita Sabi Sand at Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve (Ebony Lodge, Boulders Lodge, Castleton Camp)
Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, South Africa

The obvious trend is search for authenticity of place.

Interior Design Ideas from Best Hotels

Luxurious bedroom with a bath tub in the center - the idea is from Soho House Berlin, one of the latest openings of the chic members' club group. It is in a late-Bauhaus building that has housed both a department store and the East German Communist Party.
Soho House Berlin.
A calm and relaxing room for a vacation house - the  picture is  from Boca Chica, Acapulco.
Le Gray, Beirut.
I like very much this cozy, elegant and very modern dining corner - I great idea to borrow for your home.
Another inspiring source is the new luxury hotel with interior design by Patricia Urquiola - Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, furnished mostly with her own design furniture, accessories and lighting.
Style-conscious travelers  are may be already aware about the new trend - fashion houses branch out into the hotel business. Their boutique hotels are a great example of stylish fusion between fashion and interior design.
There are numerous other examples and if you check regularly, you will be able to see many of them here soon.

New Luxury Hotel with Interior Design by Patricia Urquiola

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open its first luxury hotel in Southern Europe this summer in Barcelona.

98 luxury rooms and suites will offer creative interiors by my favorite designer, Patricia Urquiola. The guest rooms and suites will provide guests with highly sophisticated in-room entertainment systems and elegantly designed meeting and banqueting facilities.
Mandarin Oriental Barcelona has a rooftop dipping pool, an expansive garden - a glamorous space for relaxation or al fresco dining, 1000 sq m Spa with wide range of holistic rejuvenation and relaxation as well as luxurious water and heat therapies.

A great way to combine Urquiola's most elegant and interesting furniture designs at one place. As we know, lately she has been producing excellent outdoor furniture and accessories. But she is a talented interior designer, too.

Style is the word that connects Fashion and Interior Design

A feast of colors elegantly coordinated in perfect balance and harmony - this, in short, is the description of the interiors
in the new Hotel Missoni Edinburgh that is to be opened in a few days. Matteo Thun & Partners draws on signature Missoni prints and iconic modern furnishings. As Interior Design
magazine
notes:

"Style-conscious travelers can now sleep in their favorite labels... as fashion houses branch out into the hotel business."
The boutique hotel is located in central Edinburgh and will feature 136 rooms and suites.

As you can see once again - fashion invades luxury interior design with great success.
