Eclectic elegance

I like the freedom and inspiration in eclectic style. Although many will say it is the easiest to implement, I would not agree completely - it does require good taste and attitude to good design. This includes ability to combine colours, patterns, forms and materials, at least.

Floating Kitchen

We have already seen the floating - or levitating - bed by Lago, The New Levitating Lamp, and different other real or illusionary forms of Levitation in Design. They all have one thing in common - the impression of more free space. And that is the main purpose we use this approach in interior design. I have posted about the use of floating furniture, but another way to enlarge visually small spaces is by using glass as a supportive base for furniture. This is not usually applied in kitchens and Linee kitchen by Team 7 is a great example of this approach:

Fashion and Interior Design - more on the theme

Regular readers of my blog know that one of my favorite themes is the interesting relations between fashion and interior design. And this is not just the formal pattern connection, but trends and styles, materials, etc. The fact is that they continue to influence each other  with fashion houses getting into interior design and furniture designers and architects applying their talent into the sphere of fashion.
I just came accross a site that is created with the idea about this connection between the two spheres of design, showing directly the corresponding similiarities. Here below is one of those I liked very much:
