Milan Design Week - "It’s become the biggest design meeting in the world"

That's how famous British designer Tom Dixon describes it in short in a very interesting interview for Design Week and tells about his show where they will be serving British High Tea in his new Eclectic Form Tea Set without really 'displaying' it.

A Dressed TV at Ventura Lambrate during Salone 2013

"The average telly is a technical black shrine constructed of hard plastic. And the worst part is: its uninspiring form is dominating our interior." explains his idea designer Robert Bronwasser from  SMOOL.

One of the top secret collections to debut at iSaloni 2013 is

that of furniture and lighting created by Studio Jobs for Lensvelt. They have already succeeded to attract attention with their  preview images of celebrities with Tycho Brahe-esque noses:
Which obviously aim to hint at the use of  nose-shaped hardware.

Yes, what we see here is 'Job Office Desk' which has a drawer with a nose handle and you have to stick your fingers up the nostrils in order to open it :)
The other products from the collection include Job Buffet, Job Table, Job Desk Lamp.

Konstantin Grcic’s Medici armchair now has a company:

Now it is a family: side table, stool and armchair "Medici" - you can be seated comfortably, with your legs up and your drink next to you on the table :). Good idea! I like especially the colour of the armchair.

High cork stool BOUCHON | High stool - DOMITALIA: High steel stool

BOUCHON - high and low cork stools, design by Andrea Radice & Folco Orlandini design studio

"Thanks to the superior craftsmanship of Conde House, a wood furniture manufacturer in Asahikawa in northern Japan, the joints appear seamless, as though single boards have been bent and interwoven like paper chains or a woven textile," says Nendo. "It's virtually impossible to know, looking at the shelves, how the parts are connected."

A mirror and a chair in one!

Have you ever thought that you can use your mirror as a place to sit and take of your shoes? May be this is the inspiration behind Japanese studio Nendo's Mirror-chair which will be exhibited at Rho Fiera during Milan Design Week 2013. It si a result of their first collaboration with design brand Glas Italia.

"Progressively darker frosted gradations emphacise the fusion of these two functional elements while softening the chair's reflectivity, giving it a stronger physical presence", explains the designer.
