Design for children - with imagination and love/ Дизайн за деца

What is the difference between design for adults and design for children? Both should be of good quality and function, but for children it is obligatory to design with imagination! Then design is successful. And pleasure to look at and live with. That is what Life Time children rooms exude! Have a look yourself:

Каква е разликата между дизайн за деца и за възрастни? И в двата случая той трябва да е качествен и функционален, но за децата задължително трябва да се проектира с фантазия! Показаните детски стаи са произведени от серията  Life Time на датска компания, но с малко повече усилия можем да постигнем същия ефект и у нас.

Helsinki Design Week 2011

The To Declare exhibition is the highlight of the Helsinki Design Week program at the Old Customs House. And the job of making it an exhibition that people feel that they must come and see has been put on the shoulders of Kaj Kalin:

"Most of the gadgets and stuff around us are made to say, “Buy me!” Otherwise, if no one buys them, they have no other purpose for being. This is their only message. This exhibition is not just about showing design objects, but saying something with them. These will be items with a message.'

Killing the “plastic chair”

Maurizio Montalti - a multidisciplinary designer, researcher, artist, and engineer - has created a Bio-Cover with the help of which it is very easy to achieve something considered until recently impossible - to facilitate degrading plastic chairs.

"recent mycological research has demostrated the ability of this model white-rot fungus in decomposing phenolic resins and more generally in degrading plastics, by literally feeding on them. In order to translate my overall research and address issues related to disposability, plastic toxicity, and the possibility of having fungi being able to “kill” this immortal materials, i focused my attention on a globally well-known iconic object: the plastic monobloc chair."
