Euroluce 2023 - a glimpse to the changes

"...this year the only lights we’ll see will be those of the exhibitors, as in a varied museum, with cold, warm, dim or bright lighting" says Andrea Cacaci of Lombardini22, one of the designers of the coming edition of EuroluceThe other designers are from Lombardini22 and Formafantasma.

They have decided to abandon the functional pavilion-centric grid and to create a veritable City of Lights complete with streets, squares and points of social focus intended not just for businesses. The classic layout has been changed to a circular route and in a virtual simulation they have found that with the classic layout you can travel about 1.2 km to see a whole pavilion, while with a circular route in about 500 meters you pass in front of all the stands.

While expecting the coming Salone del Mobile enjoy some inspiration from the last Euroluce:

Salone - This Time Every Year

I am sure I am not alone - many of us, who live with design, are thinking the same - shall we ever again gather at Salone like before? Can we again experience the richness of real Design Weeks? Or we shall get used to hybrid events like they are now? I hope - not: it is completely different to see the atmosphere in Milan in April! Enthusiastic people walking for hours from exhibition to exhibition, trying to catch everything, or at least most of the available new inspirations. And celebrating design!

I am sharing some of the photos that remind us what we had :)

Memories and Trends from Euroluce 2019

It happens every other year within Milan Design Week and always the stands are impossible to pass by. Lighting is magic and one of the most effective interior design tools! So, enjoy my findings:

Euroluce 2019 - the Magic of Lighting

Every other year Euroluce replaces kitchens and bathrooms at Salone. And we again enter into the magic of lighting design. The area of Euroluce was the place where I spent most of my time on the grounds of the fair. Have a look at some of the most inspiring designs I saw there:
Serip
Paolo Castelli
Melogranoblu

Myo
Foscarini
Simone Sendese Vetro Milano

Fascinated? These are just a few. More about trends in lighting design will come soon. And a report about Trends from Milan Design Week 2019 is available on request.

Salone del Mobile 2019 - International Press Conference

I just came back home from Milan, where I was attending the International Press Conference at the Triennale di Milano for the 58th edition of the Salone del Mobile. And I am impressed! So interesting new projects and product launches and such passion for good design!

We are going to see two great installations dedicated to Leonardo in the city and at the fairgrounds. Just a glimpse to one of them:

A new S.Project and a three-year partnership between the Teatro alla Scala and the Salone were also some of the most important news.
But the day before that we were presented some of the products that will be launched at the Salone. Have a look at some new lighting designs that we are going to see at Euroluce:
Artemide
NEMO
And a little inspiration from Missoni:
