How to add warmth and cosiness to the gloomy season coming? The most simple way is to use lighting more creatively. Its has a central role in our homes during the long autumn and winter nights, even during some of the days. And the light chosen can change the style and atmosphere in a room in an instant. Have a look at some of my favourate designs:

One of the latest projects of Patricia Urquiola is for Flos : the Lamp 'Chasen' inspired by a Chasen, the bamboo brush of the Japanese tea ceremony.








Caboche by Foscarini


(created again by P. Urquiola, but together with Eliana Gerotto) is sophisticated and elegant. Its 189 transparent polymethylmethacrylate balls multiply the brightness of the central lighting source. A screen in white satinized blown glass guarantees maximum diffusion of light and prevents glare.









The Uto Suspension by Foscarini
creates a comforting glow of illumination in a single-cone design that combines durable new materials with traditional lighting functions. The Uto Suspension, a 2005 Lagranja design, is made of supple silicone rubber. A polycarbonate shield diffuses the light at the end of the cone. Foscarini, headquartered in Italy, offers superb contemporary lighting products in playful and inspiring designs. The Lux-us Lighted Cube by Ameico, 2002 design, is a highly versatile illuminated cube for use indoors or out. Open to all possibilities, the Lux-us Lighted Cube can pose as a lighted planter, toy box, magazine holder, or even a wine and beer cooler. It is made of durable polyethylene and has a hollow interior. Two sides of the cube are convex and two concave, allowing two or more cubes to be stacked and used as book or display cases. Putting the cube on a concave side creates a comfortable, lighted stool with storage below. Lighting: The Lux-us Lighted Cube provides diffused lighting.
