Trend alert: golden and rose lustre

The copper trend rules interior design world for already several years and the IMM Cologne and Paris Maison&Objet proved that it will continue to do so along with increase of popularity of warm glittering metals - gold, rose gold, brass. I was glad to see some elegant new designs that use these metals in an unexpected way:

Do designers steal ideas from each other?

Or ideas are just floating in the air and suddenly we find a lot of similar designs? These thoughts inevitably appear when looking to some of the new designs presented at the last IMM Cologne:

IMM Cologne - the new major trend this year is comfort and coziness

according to and article in Deutsche Welle from yesterday. Such is the slogan of this year's fair: "Design and comfort - it was never a contradiction!"

Not that this is something new, but it is quite a natural one because "People want to breathe at home. They withdraw from the hustle and bustle of everyday life", says Ursula Geismann of the Association of German Furniture Industry. And one way to achieve this is by slowing down and using warm colors and cuddly fabrics and natural materials such as wool and wood. As well as soft couches piled with as many pillows as possible.
