There are some pieces of furniture that speek clearly about their time and place of origin, that are symbolyc for a given style or esthetic approach. We can, for example, recognise immediately the so called 'modern classics' from the 20th century.
Today we are living in dynamic world where boundaries are dissolved, and smart modern solutions are integrated with traditional styles and materials. And this is exactly what the Smart Deco - A Period Room of the 21st Century event showed:
"an authentic expression reflecting the zeitgeist of contemporary design, as well as timeless necessity"
I like this description and the name chosen - Smart Deco - and I intend to start posting under this title the objects that represent exactly that symbolyc for our time fusion of styles, materials and technologies, executed with a pinch of irony and lightheartedness.
My today's find which confirmed this intention is the melody stripe dining table (above) from Anthropology.
