My Favourite Wall Decor

source: House and Garden
What is your favourite wall decor? Along with decorating wallpaper we are all aware that even a small piece of art properly situated on the wall can become the centerpiece of the room or, without being obtrusive, it  can change in a very subtle way  the style of a room. This can be a photo or a group of photos, a painting that inspires you or a group of pictures.
I have found that decorating with pictures and paintings is one of my favorite approaches as an interior designer - they can be source of inspiration and color schemes, they can unite all the colors in a room, they can be used as focal point in an interior... And something very important - they can easily be replaced  when we need a change. If you are afraid that there will be marks on the wall, you can use one of the numerous devices that make hanging pictures an easy and fun process. They can help you display art properly without damaging existing walls through the use of nails, or common art hangers. They have also this advantage of extreme flexibility and freedom - art suspended from a hanging system may be moved and rearranged, effortlessly, and without tools. And you have your new decor in an instant!

Office trend: productive away from your desk

I like this new office trend - cozy spaces that do not remind you even remotely of a traditional desk. Some of them are created especially to separate you from the surroundings and allow you to create in your own world.

The Incontri series above by Altek, design Paolo Ceola,  implement also the idea of the “furniture island” - a system of seating and mobile relaxation areas that can be assembled in different ways by grouping together the various elements. Incontri can be supplied on request with an integrated sound system with computer connections. It can also be integrated with the folding Archimede table (design Leonardo Rossano) that offers two surfaces whose height and inclination can be adjusted via a simple movement.(via)

There is also a maturing market for office “breakout” areas offered by Pearson Lloyd
(Wallpaper* Magazine),  also in Ronan and Erwan Bouroulec's idea of modern offices.

Recycling can be inspiring, too

Do you like these strange creatures?

Can you guess what they are made of? Bits and pieces of old electronic devices. They are created by  Steven Rodrig,  artist and electronics repairman - and are known as PCB Creations.

A great way of using at least some of the numerous discarded circuit boards that go to  the landfill every year. I like the idea of creative recycling when things that are not necessary anymore are turned into something beautiful and inspiring.
