Crafts fashion for yourself and for your home

I like handmade decoration - it always shows personality and individuality of the interior. The same is with fashion - we cannot always make it with our hands, but artists' hands and imagination  that we have chosen speak of our tastes and give a hint  for our personality. That si why the craft trend in interior design so popular. I have found some great ideas by Marie Claire Idées - both, for your homes and for yourself:

Men's fashion invades interior design

Tartan throw by de Le Cuona

When I talk about the close connection between fashion and interior design usually I mean women's fashion, but it is also very interesting to find that menswear textile patterns have invaded interior and product design - as ELLEDECOR publishes in its latest ussue. Inspired by the classic menswear many designers create stylish objects for our homes - but I am wondering how many of us would use them? What do you think - are they intended for men dominated interiors?

Warm and cosy under our feet

It is time to think about adding more warmth and cosyness in our homes. Carpets and rugs are a simple way to achieve this while changing the whole atmosphere in the room.

Warp & Weft - Highlands
Some beautiful new products -  Highlands collection above by  warpandweft.com is made using a silktweeding technique, which interweaves Indian mulberry silk with unbleached Himalayan wool and. below:

Mexican designer Liliana Ovalle's abstract pattern La Lomita carpet for Nodus Rug is in wool and silk and is made in Nepal using handcrafted methods.
Paola Lenti - Spin
Cords, braids, knitted tubular fabrics, conceived by Paola Lenti and produced exclusively for the Brand, are loom woven, hand tufted or simply sewn, to create rugs and mats which are unique for their aesthetics, chromatic effect and functionality.
But, if you want something exotic and follow the very popular trend for hand-made designs and also the new love for felt, you may buy a shyrdak felt rug  - a type of felt invented by nomadic tribes 2,500 years ago to insulate and decorate yurts. They are usually hand-made in Central Asia, especially in Kyrgyzstan.

Babies bathrooms

Kids bathrooms are necessity - many of you will agree with me for this. It is much more comfortable for both of us - parents and kids. But baby bathrooms are something comparatively new. Not many couples have the possibility to create a separate bathroom especially for their new baby. Nor will they consider it practical enough in order to invest in a special baby's bathroom. But, think again - now there exist such wonderful products that are really flexible and allow you to easily transform your baby's bathroom into a kids' bathroom and later to teen's bathroom. Or, you may integrate a baby bathroom corner within your bathroom. Have a look at some beautiful examples:
