A growing trend

Herman Miller

This seams to be a growing trend - the so called Standing Desk is getting more and more popular:

But, if you check, you will fins that "During the 18th and 19th centuries, standing desks were popular in the homes and offices of the rich.... Standing desks have regained some popularity due to purported health benefits, however, these benefits have not yet been clearly established" according to Wikipedia.
Here is another idea with more health befits:0godshawhamsterwheel.jpg
Hamster Wheel Standing Desk

That is in fact a standing-desk treadmill—except the treadmill has been turned inside out to place the user on the inside. Like a hamster wheel. But this one is really too raw, too unrefined design, according to me.

Rustic revolution

I am borrowing this title from Livingetc, but I do agree that this trend in interior design is growing - rustic look with lots of  unfinished or reclaimed wood combined with industrial style with many metal elements. I like its simplicity and the natural materials in general. Kitchen sink area | Victorian terrace flat in London | House tour | PHOTO GALLERY | Livingetc | Housetohome.co.uk

But we should always beware of making the atmosphere too cold and avoid it by adding more natural wood and other warm coloured elements:
