International Contemporary Furniture Fair Highlights

This weekend the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Jacob K. Javitz Center in New York

One of my favourate products is Rapsel's Arne bath tub - its name directly communicates to the curves of Arne Jacobsen's furniture

Another notable product is the Bamboo Basket Chair by Isamu Noguchi: a result of a collaboration between Noguchi and famed Japanese interior designer Isamu Kenmochi back in 1950, it was never put into production (in fact, the prototype disappeared) until last year when it was recreated from drawingsfor the exhibition “Design: Isamu Noguchi and Isamu Kenmochi” at the Noguchi Museum in Queens (open through May 25th). Now the Museum, in collaboration with Kenmochi Design Associates, is offering the chair in a limited edition of fifty. It can be bought at ICFF when the fair opens to the general public on Tuesday, May 20th or thereafter on the museum’s website (noguchi.org) at $9,500 a piece (all proceeds benefiting the museum).
