One of New Zealand’s most renowned and award-winning designers David Trubridge will showcase his work from April 18-23 at Spazio Goradesky in Milan in a joint New Zealand design show with fellow compatriot Tim Miller. Melding traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, he specialises in sculptural wooden furniture designs and sustainability and simplicity are one of his main concerns. These are two of his ingenious designs: FloatConcept bed (above) design for Design Mobel, made from all natural, sustainable materials. Top is adjustable to provide shade or side screening.
And FlaxCoffee table made from 1.5mm hoop pine ply strips riveted together with an acrylic 'satinice' top. 1m in diameter.
