Trend: Pixels Everywhere. Now a luxury limited edition cabinet by Boca do Lobo

Designers like to use the pattern of pixels - as a way to introduce modernity in design for the home. It first started at last year's Maison & Objet 2009 when Cristian Zuzunaga dressed the creations of Christophe Delcourt with pixellated fabric. Then the beautiful Tufted Pixel Rug of the Portuguese Piodao group
and the Ron Arad's Do Lo Rez rug and sofa. Now we have this beautiful luxurious cupboard by Boca do Lobo. The Pixel is a cube that opens to revel its interior with nine drawers for storage, a Limited Edition Cabinet offering price $23,850.
.
"The Pixel is an effort to honor the union between design and craftsmanship. The 1088 triangles that complete this piece, with a diversity of finishes never before seen combined – silver leaf, gold leaf, lacquering, and 10 different types of wood leaf – carry the dedication and art of those who built it.  Inside this piece we reinterpret a material and technique left in time – aged mirror and “capitoné”.   The polished brass base gives Pixel a unique personality,  a strong and at the same time sophisticated character."
