What will be the prevailing trends in the new year? Many of them have already started and probably will continue to be dominating in 2008, too. Let's start with colour:
I am pleased to say that the colour of 2008 will be Blue Iris! This is my favourate flower and mostly because of its colour!

Pantone has selected its “Color of the Year” for 2008: Blue Iris Pantone 18-3943.
According to them the blue-purple blend combines “the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple,” “satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement.”

How to use it at home?
“Look for it artfully combined with deeper plums, red-browns, yellow-greens, grapes and grays,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

I was thrilled to hear about Pantone's choice as well.. I think it speaks volumes about where the world is right now... great post!

Exactly - no matter if everyone accepts it, it is a fact already that the mood and attitude that this colour carries is becoming part of many new design collections.
