Levitating Building in Central London

Levitation occupies designers minds for quite some time and now, an Artist Conjures Up Levitating Building in Central London - Alex Chinneck's project named “Take My Lightning But Don’t Steal My Thunder” is a temporary pavilion set in front of Covent Garden’s market building:

For those interested in the phenomenon, check my earlier posts - we have seen real Levitating lamp, beds that seem to be levitating, kitchen that seems to be levitating, you can even buy for yourself such a levitating lamp and other objects!

Floating Wood Furniture and Other Home Objects

We have seen the Levitating lamp which we can even buy today and have it in our homes:

Floating Lamp by Crealev
Also several levitating beds and other really or seemingly floating objects and now we have the Tensile Table - floating wood furniture that levitates via magnets:

It is created by RocketPaperRobot and is composed of hovering blocks that seem to magically shift back into formation when applied pressure is removed.Thin wires keep each cube from flying away from the others, while powerful magnets hold the constituent pieces apart.  Effectively, The Float Table, is a matrix of “magnetized” wooden cubes that levitate with respect to one another. The repelling cubes are held in equilibrium by a system of tensile steel cables.”
I like also the idea of the Floating Kitchen which uses another approach, but still creates a feeling of lightness and gives much more space.
If you would like to have more floating objects at home, see the Anti-Gravity Floating Lamp by LeviTECH Labs and the Pac Man Ghost Floating Lamp.

Another levitating bed

 - as much as the one we already know - the floating - or levitating - bed by Lago :)
Made in Italy, the Wing Bed's floating bed frame is fixed to the headboard and features a Plexiglas foot. The headboard is upholstered in leather and it's fixed to the wall. Integrated nightstands available in various finishes and configurations.

The New Levitating Lamp

Six years ago I published a post about the first Levitating Lamp
and it had great popularity. Later there were several other forms of this phenomenon and now the levitating lamp is in production so you can buy one for yourself:

It's name is CreaLight and you have a choice of colours and models:

Yes, it is true - the lamp shade is floating above the lamp and you can even put a small object above the shade to watch it float together with it! How does this happen? An electromagnetic field allows the shade to hover above the base like a flying saucer. More on the theme here.
