The most unusual wall treatment

Can you see what there is on the walls of this MOUNTAIN CHALET IN ASPEN? Yes, these are pieces of birch veneer framed with split branches! The whole interior design of this amazing house is very artistic:

"In the entry, an 1880 Belgian table, a 1940s Kaare Klint sofa, and a 1937 Josef Frank cabinet found at Christie's; the staircase is made of antique oak" (Read more: Mountain Chalet In Aspen - Caroline Sarkozy Colorado Home - ELLE DECOR)

Including the kitchen! An elegant mix of old wood and painted pine for the cabinets, modern colour choice and a sudden twist with this beautiful ArtDeco style lamp above the island. I like also the cozy dining corner in the same style and the same pendant fixture:

The artisrtic touch in the master bedroom is the famous wicker chair by Ron Arad:

And in the guest bedroom, if you notice, the walls are covered in the de Le Cuona linen also used for the widow treatment:

A little gloomy for me, but very cozy.
Great interior design - what do you think?

Trend alert: Dome Pendant Lamps

I am fascinated by the latest trend in lighting - cozy dome-shaped lamps, big and small, like this Avico Suspension Lamp by FontanaArte, that create the impression that you are under a safe shelter, uniting everyone under its light. Large Avico Suspension Lamp By Fontana Arte

or this Toldbod Glass Pendant

Nur 1618 Suspension by Artemide
Nur 1618 Suspension by ArtemideDesigned to mimic the nature of sunlight, the Artemide Nur 1618 Suspension provides bright, direct downlight with subtle indirect lighting emanating through sanded glass at the top. An eye-catcher over the breakfast bar or near a wall. Features a large dome-shaped shade of spun aluminum.

lampara caravaggio Caravaggio Pendant by Lightyears - Named for the Italian Baroque painter regarded for his contrast of light and shadow, the Caravaggio Pendant by Lightyears provides concentrated downlight while the open-top steel shade softly casts an ambient upward glow. A high-gloss lacquer coating adds a contemporary feel to the flared bell-jar silhouette. Adjustable suspension, four size options and three color variations offer remarkable versatility.

For the eco-friendly of us and also those looking for a more afordable lighting, my suggestion are these
Recycled Wine Bottle Hanging Lights - they are equally cozy and inviting.

The New Levitating Lamp

Six years ago I published a post about the first Levitating Lamp
and it had great popularity. Later there were several other forms of this phenomenon and now the levitating lamp is in production so you can buy one for yourself:

It's name is CreaLight and you have a choice of colours and models:

Yes, it is true - the lamp shade is floating above the lamp and you can even put a small object above the shade to watch it float together with it! How does this happen? An electromagnetic field allows the shade to hover above the base like a flying saucer. More on the theme here.
