EuroCucina 2018 - Trends

What is happening in the world of kitchens? According to the suggestions from the last EuroCucina during Milan Design Week 2018, the kitchen is becoming more and more part of the living room and dining area and the lines between them are getting blurred:
"+Venovo", Poggenpohl
And we will have more often a hidden kitchen:
Ernestomeda - Inside System
But what I like very much is the idea that the dining table gets attached to the kitchen island,
Euromobil
allowing you to change the working and dining area according to the needs.

Milan Design Week 2018 Trends - Too much brass

There was a lot of this material present everywhere during Salone 2018. Brass is beautiful - I like it, especially the sound that comes from brass instruments :) I like the subtle luxe it gives to an interior when used properly and mainly as accents...

Trendoffice Product Picks from Milan Design Week 2018

The fair and all the events going at the same time are impossible to grasp and reflect thoroughly, but still, one can have some general impressions about new trends and ineresting new products, unexpected design solutions. Here are some of my picks:
Justine Cabinet by Matteo Cibic - one of his “wonder-objects” designed for JCP

Yael Reboh's "Primavera" project - layer upon layer of veneer and fabric and the result is so unusually beautiful and probably very comfortable armachair!

Atlas table by Hillsideout (Andrea Zambelli and Nat Wilms) in painted bronze and glass - Ventura Future

HELIX by Vener Lab - the stainless steel surface, helix-shaped, leans on the structure worked in a single piece of ghiandone stone, carved in the top.

Agua Collection by Patricia Urquiola for Budri
Are you fascinated? :) I am - by the magic of designers'imagination. All these are products that mark design solutions beyond the usual way of thinking and product materials selection.

Fashion Brands’ Home Lines taking over Salone del Mobile - again

As my regular readers already know, the mutual influence between fashion and interior design is one of my favourite themes in this blog. And for a reason - every year we are seeing it grow. The most recent example - Milan Design Week 2018: some of the most exclusive fashion designer labels were presenting their new luxury home objects for the sixth year. What I liked very much:

André Fu’s "Ribbon Dance Chair" for Louis Vuitton's collection of Les Petits Nomades
Louis Vuitton -  Humberto & Fernando Campana's "Tropicalist Vase"
Marni “La Vereda”

 Fendi Cucine, architect Marco Costanzi

Milan Design Week 2018 - а lot of beautiful glass designs

It seems that glass is the popular material this year at Salone. I like Patricia Urquiola's new tables for Glas Italia:

and Alwa One Table by Sebastian Herkner for Pulpo:

Very impressive is Hypertable by Mario Bellini for Glas Italia (above)
"Low table in transparent 10-millimeter extra-light glass glued at 45 degrees, the lower surface of which is completely covered by sheets of irregularly shaped and faceted extra-light glass. The edges of these glass sheets are beveled at different angles varying in degree of incline and width. The resulting table is one which resembles a magical set of prisms with unlimited faceting and unexpected reflections. A version is also available in mirror finish, where the features of the table are enhanced in an explosion of luminosity."

And especially the Alcova collection designed the Bouroullec brothers fro Wonderglass:

A lamp - money-box

Dina is a lamp that is activated and the bulbs light up when a coin is inserted.

It is going to be presented at the coming Milan Design Week 2018. But not every coin - "to stand out the concept of the value of light, it only works with large and medium size coins, which usually represent the highest denomination in most currencies. small ones do not manage to make the necessary contact to turn on the light", as described in designboom. "when we want dina to stop illuminating, we simply pull the wooden sphere and our coin is saved. not only it reminds us of the value of light, but we can also save money for future wishes". It is created by MOAK studio
